About to Hack GH2: Macbook Pro Okay to Inspect Footage?

(Been away from IT for awhile, hope all of you fine folks are doing well....)

I'm about to hack my GH2.

Do you think I can use my new-ish Macbook Pro (backlit LED screen) to really see the differences between unhacked vs. hacked footage?

Also, I'm going cheap for now and using iMovie to edit the footage together. But am wondering if this is a mistake?? For now I'm learning the GH2, the hacks, etc. on home-movie stuff. I've been perusing the personal-view web site.

Any thoughts and suggestions welcome!!
