Upcoming Interview with indieflix

So, I landed an interview with indieflix, and I was wondering, if you could ask them a question, what would it be? I can't promise to cover everyone's questions, but I'll try to get some of them in.

If you wanted to lighten the mood you could ask something like: So, exactly what is the difference between indieflix and say warflix or perhaps comedyflix. Heehee I don't have a good question sorry.

It's got a split purpose, so we'll see how that goes...

Goal number 1 is to learn more about how indieflix works, what features they plan on introducing, how they share subscription profits with filmmakers, why they think they're a good way to distribute movies, etc. Satisying my (and I hope others) curiosity about how the whole thing works.

Goal number 2 is related specifically to horror--what % of their movies are horror, how competitive is it, what they're looking for, things like that? That's more for my audience at KDK12.

Usually I only have one goal per interview...

I'd like you to ask what they make of this assertion by young Kyle (from South Park) :

Kyle said:
Yeah, but you know, I learned something today. We thought we could make money on the Internet. But, while the Internet is new and exciting for creative people, it hasn't matured as a distribution mechanism to the extent that one should trade real and immediate opportunities for income for the promise of future online revenue. It will be a few years before digital distribution of media on the Internet can be monetized to the extent that necessitates content producers to forego their fair value in more traditional media.

I'd be interested in how they viewed the future of independent film, and the next ten years. Do they think we're on the verge of a film rennaissance? What sectors of the industry might suffer, or thrive over the coming decade?

The interview questions are in their hands. I'll see what I get and do some followups if I can. Hope it will be useful to all!

Sweet. Give a good bump when the answers come back. :)

I don't think this ever got the "bump" you were looking for.

Just ran across it on a IT search for "IndieFlix".
Anyone mind tossing in an opinion or two on IF as a viable means of distribution?
Assuming they don't tack on a suspect amount of SG&A charges, their 70/30 split of net seems like a fair shake compared to what an art gallery would charge an artist to host their work, usually closer to <50/50.

Doesn't look like NetFlix provides a solid return: Order 60 token copies, by and large, and... that's the last you'll ever hear of them. Not even rental interest data. Bummer (to be polite).

What other online distribution options are available?
Competitors?

Hmm... Amazon bought CustomFlix/CreateSpace.com in 2005:

Maverick Entertainment goes about the traditional route:

Filmbaby.com

Hmm... site claims 2k titles.

Interesting distribution article:
