Looking for sound effect

Im trying to get a sound effect that I don't know the standard term for. It is the sound used to suggest a sudden stop of the film, a kind of 'eeeee' screech type noise. Usually used to comic effect when someone in the film is shocked by something.

Anyone know what to call this sound or where I might get it?

TIA

The record-scratch or tires sudden braking.

No idea if they have official names.

Here's the cartoon section of Flashkit's royalty-free sound fx. There's probably something similar, there.

Try searching for sound files at

http://www.findsounds.com/

just enter what you think it might be called. Zen's suggestions sound right to me -- record scratch, braking tires, etc
