Top 5 Foot Chases of All Time
Good God, this was deceptively hard to think up. I can instantly envision nearly sixty-two thousand different brilliant car-chases, but........... foot chases? Not easy at all. Trying to consider all the essentials: good action, good emotion, good story setting. And trying to avoid picking bits that are too brief (ie the glorious but short-lived openers for 28 Weeks Later and Trainspotting). Alas, with all that governmental fanfare, here is my pathetic excuse for a list. Treat it like the Grail because this ranking is, of course, scientifically indisputable.
Top 5 Foot Chases of All Time- Banlieu 13 (first chase)
- The Matrix (opener)
- Seven (mills)
- The Shining (climax)
- Blade Runner (the blonde)
Any of you got a better list? Have at it.

Former forum member Kely McClung made a great film a few years back, called Kerberos.
It had a really memorable foot chase sequence in it. I felt so sorry for the stedicam operator on that one.
I don't have a link to the actual chase, but here's the trailer. : Linkage
Met Kely at his Los Angeles premiere. Cool cat.
Anyways, it's a great indie film to watch regardless... and it has that foot chase!

My God, did they really shoot this on a Sony EX1? Very impressive. They took that camera the distance. I'd love to watch the chase you're talking about. Thanks!

Yeah for sure.
Also the Bourne films have some great running chase sequences as well.

Agreed. Solid That was my sixth choice. You just can't go wrong with parkour. Ever.
Even movies like The King's Speech would have improved with parkour.

Crap, did I munch the title when I wrote it? It's called different things in different countries. B13. District B13. Etc. But anyway, you saw it? You like it? Isn't bloody great? I actually dig plot as well.
"Avatard," hahaha. How come you're not throwing that in the mix? I think there's at least one brief run on feet, eh?

Nah, it's cool, from the thread title that was the first thing that popped into my mind as well! The sequel isn't bad either and I'm looking forward to the Hollywood remake...only because David Belle is still in it. Awesome film, but you're right, that first chase scene just nailed it!

The scene in Avatar, when he's chased by the direwolf, yeah that's pretty cool, but not good enough for a top-5 list. You know what is, though? Raiders of the Lost Ark, in the chase through the streets of Cairo.
