Avid DV Free

Did anyone know this exsisted?

My Dad e-mailed my this link and I didn't even know Avid had a free version of XpressDV. Of course, when you look at the break down, it's missing alot in features and it only runs on WinXP for the windows users and doesn't have 10.3 support for the Macs. But what do you expect?...it's free.....legally.

You can only have 2 audio and 2 video tracks, which is rather limiting. It also doesn’t have roll, ripple, or the vast majority of basic editing tools (like batch capture, EDL, or any color correction) and supports only one media type (mov). Other than that it seems mostly useless although I never liked DV Express much. It’s technically a better program if all you want to do is cut, but I like Adobe better for serious image manipulation.
