POPULAR BANDS film festivals $$$???

Please help. I have two songs I want to use for my movie. One is from the POGUES, and the other is from THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN. Does anyone know if it would cost money to use the songs for film festivals. Does anyone have any information as to who I should write to, or contact via internet? Please let me know. Thank you...Armand

You can get Festival-only rights from Ascap.com & BMI.com

I can't find the direct links to the details on either site... has to be there somewhere, though.

You might also try contacting the bands (or their reps) directly to see if you can get permission for free. :cool:

The worst they can do is say no, or they have no control over that. It's worked for others from time to time.
