DSLR for Being a Canon user, I have looked at the 7D and decided to go with the 5D MkII or even the 1DS MkIII. You need to look at the imager size. While I am sure that the 7D would do a find job, it has the smaller imager. As you are looking at shooting video as well, look at the EOS 5D MKII...

I've been out of professional photography for a while but am considering getting back in. I wanted to do stills on sets way back when and this looks like something I would have enjoyed shooting.

The type of feature you are referring too might go well with TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network).

If it were a low budget or freebie, when he told me he could get someone else I would have told him to go right ahead and walked off the set. On that set, I would have let it go in one ear and out the other thinking "what a moron."

Trouble with Transferring video First, it is good to have an external hard drive plugged in to do your scratchwork and rendering from. Does the camera have a USB or Firewire port on it? If so, you need a cable to connect the camera to the computer. If not, I would suggest a video capture...
