    Something like the Canopus ADVC300 would be a good choice. I work with a lot of old footage, 8mm and vhs, the TBS in the Canopus box will do a good job of cleaning up older footage.

    I keep everything. Every project has it's own file box, not just a folder, stuff can fall out of a folder. All raw footage tapes, dailys, edits, etc, are all in the box, every thing on one place.

    You should buy a MAc Really, if you want a good video editing platform for a reasonable price, switch to a Mac. Then you can can focus on filmmaking, not wrestling with the computer.

    Insurance If you are looking for liability coverage. Contractors insurance may be the way to go. My insurance covers anything I may damage on a shoot, personal injury to others, and it also covers my equipment if damaged. Only costs me $300.0 per year.
