I'm looking into camcorders that have 3 ccd's and all i can find in my $500 price range are the panasonic pv-gs 300, 400 and 500. The 300 is in my price range but its a discontinued camcorder and the only place to find them would be used. Would getting a used panasonic pv-gs300 be a good...

ok heres my question. i see that shotgun mics can be plugged into an external mic plug in cameras. how long is the cord to the mic? and can you get extensions for the mic cord because i would like to construct my own boom for the time being. thanks in advance
