Look in to community colleges in your area. They might have a program with classes you'd be interested in. You can take one or two part time in addition to working to see if you like it. You'll learn a lot and the price will be more reasonable than a film school.
Getting books will also...
I recommend Sony Movie Studio. I know you said you want free, but it's pretty cheap and works well. It's a very strait forward and basic editor with minimal fx such as color balance, chroma key, etc. It also has a text layer you can use any fonts with.
I did not have any luck with blender or...
I didn't like the new fx. I thought they were easy to spot. They changed one of the songs I liked from the original.
The way it was done originally had charm. I think that relates to the original question but having costumed actors and models instead of flashy cgi might be expensive and time...
How did you get the trashcan to shake @ 1:32? Was someone in it?
What kind of camera did you use and what editing program did you use? How did you record the sound?
Aren't child actors kind of tragic figures though? I think Corey Feldman might have a hard time coming across as heartfelt.
Well, I just looked up "goonies where are they now" - I guess most of them are doing pretty well. Having them be the parents could work.
I heard they're doing solo movies for some Spiderman villains like Venom. I'm curious to see how they'll tell the stories focusing on the villain. Boba Fett would be the same way. Will they make them sympathetic? Will it just be darker? Will the "hero" be shown in a worse light?
I think a character would have psychological motivation to kill, even if it's not known to the viewer.
I think The Hills Have Eyes was that way.
I think some people would like it, but I wouldn't.
Star Wars. This is a prediction too:
There are a ton of books set in the Star Wars universe. I think they're going to make movies out of a lot of those stories. It's all just sitting there waiting to be a profitable movie. Then there's the Young Jedi Knights series; I bet that's going to...
I watched through Young Indiana Jones on Netflix. I really loved it. It gave me a new appreciation for the crystal skull movie because the movie fits with the larger story line. There's a lot of movie magic in the show. The Phantom Train of Doom was probably my favorite.
I know what you...
One thing I'm worried about is that actors I find might not think the movie is fun or funny.
How do you go about making sure the actors know what kind of movie your making and role they'll be playing?
