Will a Science degree dent my film aspirations?

David Cronenberg started out in Science but changed and got his degree in Literature. James Cameron also started out in Science but dropped out. So did dozens of other famous directors, writers etc. In my opinion, you're even better off with an unrelated degree. Degrees in film production are...

    Post your loglines here!

A disillusioned nightclub bouncer reconciles with his world through a shattering encounter it,s written in french so I'm pretty sure I could come up with a better logline.

    Script Re-Writes

Somewhere between 1 and 100. Seriously though, some people are happy with their third version, some never will be. As a sidenote, make sure you ask for the opinion of other screenwriters. They'll ALWAYS find something to edit.

    Sony PD150

Excellent stuff everybody, thanks for the feedback. I've been looking at the DIYs for the stabilizer and decided to take it in my own hands as some kind of Christmas holidays project. Bought everything today, cost me around $35 CAD. We'll see how it goes.

    Sony PD150

I did look at the DIYs, but I'm useless with tools (and I don't have any) so I'm probably better off buying one.

    Sony PD150

I can't wait to start shooting, but I don't have the computer to do something with the footage so for now I'm only testing out the features etc. Also, when I do start shooting, I was looking at buying this : http://www.raiddiskstore.com/cobracrane/steadytrackerxtreme.html Thoughts? Thanks for...

    Sony PD150

I bought my first camera, a Sony PD150, about a month ago for a very good price. Now I'm waiting on getting a good enough editing computer which should be pretty soon. I haven't heard a lot about this camera, any tips/hints form actual users? Do's and dont's ?

    CobraCrane SteadyTracker Xtreme

So I'm pretty new to actual filmmaking, I've been writing scripts for a while but I've no experience whatsoever with hands-on camera handling etc. I've bought a Sony PD-150 a month ago and I'm quite happy with it so far, although I've not used it to its potential as of now. I'm putting together...

    I need inspiration

Stop thinking. Get out not looking for anything, let the ideas come to you. It probably sounds stupid as hell, but I've never written a (non-shitty) script looking for it.

    watch Roselyn- Short Film

Got to agree with some flaws in the screenplay. Definately too slow for a short. But, again, incredible camera work. Care to share the details on what you shot with, techniques etc. ? If you dont wish to talk about it publicly, please PM me as I'd love to get that kind of ambiance.

watch My First Narrative Film: "Something Missing"

Performance-wise, if I may, drop the guy. The girl isn,t bad from what I've seen, but you should deffo look for another male actor for your next film. Apart from that, I'd say the editing kind of lagged like was previously mentioned but keep up the good work, we can all only get better.

    hi

My name's Hugo from Montreal, Canada. I'm studying literature (studied screenwriting too) but I have an even bigger passion for filmmaking. The only reason I don't go to a film school is because film student's movies are just about unwatchable. If it's any interesting to you guys, my heroes in...
