I do Corporate training videos with a major online retailer. Not the most exciting job in the world, but it pays the bills and allows me to make videos (albeit not the ones I really want to be making, but making them non the less)

NTSC is the standard video format for the united states and a few other countries around the world. You more than likely have a NTSC camcorder unless you purchased it from the UK who use PAL as their standard.

Is your final product going to be 30fps? or 24fps?

Adobe AE CS4 has that kind of stabilization. It's not super ideal because it ends up cropping the edges of your video but it's still useful non-the less.
