No light meter pointer on super 8 camera!?

Hi guys, I just bought a Braun Nizo 481 macro and I have tested it all with batteries and it seems operational. The one problem is that I cannot see the pointer on the light meter. I have tried switching the manual control around to see if it appears but there doesn't seem to be any pointer...

Canon 514 XL-S - wide angle lens zoom blur?

Yeah, actually that makes sense! I was also wondering how I know when the batteries in the camera work? It has the batteries in it but the battery check line thing remains on the 'S' whatever that means? Thanks again :)

Two Camers - one cartridge of film?

Thanks for the reply! Why would I lose 20 frames of film? (Also, that sounds like a lot but as it's filming 24 frames per second I'm hoping that is the equivalent to losing about a seconds-worth of film?

Hi guys. I just bought a Canon 514 XL-S and I have the oppurtunity to get hold of a wide angle C8 lens for it. Firstly, is £30 a good price for this lens? Secondly does this lens actually make that much of a difference? Has anyone ever used this lens - I have had a look on youtube to see the...

Can you still buy super 8mm Film WITH SOUND?

Aaaah ok, thanks for that info - so it is pointless buying a camera that says 'sound' as if that is some sort of advantage. So, can we only film silent or post-dub on super 8mm film then? Thanks for the reply

Can you still buy super 8mm Film WITH SOUND?

Hi guys. I'm thinking of investing in a Super 8 camera and have noticed that lots do not record sound. There are a few that do say they record sound and they come with mics but I thought that super 8 sound film was no longer in existence/made and any would be extremely expensive. Is sound film...

How to get rid of infinite depth video look...

Hey guys I'm trying to create a 'film look' shooting 25f on the Canon HXA1. I can't figure out how to get rid of that indefinite depth of focus that video has and focus just on my subject with the background slightly blurry, like in film. Does anyone know how to do this? I've changed to manual...

How does David Lynch do this to voices?

I did read that somewhere but the actors actions look like they are normal? Did he just get them to act backwards as well? It must have been hard getting them to say everything backwards!

How does David Lynch do this to voices?

Hi guys, I'm a movie making n00b and have been given an asignment to create a film using sound effects and, being a huge David Lynch fan I immediately thought of the weird voice effect from Twin Peaks, you can hear it here if you skip to about 3:40 - I really want to recreate this but don't know...
