    Car Explosion

Well, it just so happens that the guy I've asked to be a grip is also a fireman. So if you want a shot of a car, I can try to arrange it.

    What to do...

Well...how about explaining to them your concerns and seeing what they think? A good way to do this, I have learned through leadership training, would actually be reverse of what I explained above. Basically ask them if they think there is anything that could be done better for the film. If...

    watch Dirty Whore

Well, I don't have speakers on my computer at the moment, so no sound. But here's my opinion on the video: I thought the actual filming was done pretty well. Lighting, angles, etc. The scene transitions were pretty jerky. Try to figure out some better transitions. You faded out a few...

    How to makes trailers/teasers?

First of all, what's the difference (if there is one) between a 'trailer' and a 'teaser'? Secondly, what are some elements a good trailer/teaser should have? Thanks!

    Fundraising for my company

So, before I can start working on any projects, I need equipment, right? Does anyone have any ideas, hints or tips on how I could raise money to buy the equipment I need? I doubt it'd be like raising money for a film, where you go and talk about your project and show clips and stuff to...

JUst watched Transformers 2 revenge of the fallen

I have not seen Transformers yet, but I plan to very soon. I was looking up some films on IMDB yesterday when I came across some information stating Transformers 3 in currently in development, I believe with Spielberg as the Producer.

    ConLang (Constructed Language)

Have you ever found a need for a language for any of your films? Do you think you'll ever need one? When I go to college, I plan on minoring in, or doing a dual major, linguistics. A linguist friend and I are working on our own 'conlang' at the moment. So if you ever need any conlang, natlang...

Any Indies Out There? STL and Surrounding Areas

Well...I can talk to a friend of mine to see if he'd like me to introduce the two of you. I used to live in Missouri, same town my friend lives in. It's a little over 100 miles, so I don't know if that too far away for you or not. Sorry I'm being vague, but I want to check with him before I...

    HD Camera Decisions...

The only thing I have is a Canon Elura, MiniDV. It's like 11 years old :( But it was like a 2500 dollar camera new. I haven't used it a whole lot yet. Hopefully I'll be able to get something a little better before I start actual films ;)

    HD Camera Decisions...

My cousins have two cameras of the same model, they're Sony. I cannot remember the model however... But they're pretty nice cameras.

    Faith Based film bandwagon?

I have thought about making a Christian-themed film, be it fiction, non-fiction, documentary, whatever. Directorik, your first post was quite a good one, I think you hit on several very valid points.

    DS9

I would have to agree with that point. Here's my ranking: TNG VGR TOS DS9 ENT (I've never seen more than like 2 minutes of any episode)

    DS9

True, true. I also forgot about the kiss scene. Thanks for correcting!

    DS9

While I agree that TOS was good, TNG was the BEST. No offense to anyone, but DS9 and Voyager were political moves. DS9 was to have a black (not using as a racist term) captain, and Voyager was to have a female captain. Again, I'm not racist or sexist. I don't mean to offend anyone with this...

    Lighting question

Thanks again everyone! Scoopicman, that's actually a pretty cool idea! It just so happens that the first scene takes place in 13th century China :D

    Lighting question

Ah, yes, Director of Photography. Still getting used to all of the positions and titles. Thanks!

    Lighting question

Thanks :) I wasn't clear on part of it, I didn't mean to seem like I was asking if I should add it into the screenplay itself. So basically if I have an experienced cameraman, I would be able to pull off the scene without a light?

    Lighting question

In the screenplay I am writing, the first scene takes place in a dark room, the only lighting in the room being a candle. Should I add a light; and if so, what kind? How much would it cost? Thanks!

    Greetings

Hello, my name is Dillon. I am a 17 year old who is interested in filmmaking. My experience: My cousin owns a professional production company in Colorado Springs. I've worked with them on multiple shoots. Mainly on these shoots I have worked as a grip. Otherwise, I don't have too much...
