    Research...

Thanks for all the tips guys! I only just got back to work after 3 months of play and I'm tired 24/7 and basically not in the mood. I have Saturday off so hopefully the tips from 'getting into writing mood' will help me out with getting into research mood as well... FJ, never thought about...

    Research...

Hi guys, a few more silly questions..! In my script, the main character works in the NYPD. The only parts in my script where that fact is actually shown happen in the late 50's-60's. It's not one of the MAIN things in the film and yet, those little details such as certain laws, jobs, boroughs...

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

Thank you! Well, it has been said lol but glad to see more people think I should 'go with the flow' lol And very glad to see more females here!

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

Ah, Q, you're too kind :) Emailed you now. I sent you all 23 pages I wrote so far, you don't have to read the whole thing.. and well, any sort of feedback would be greatly appreciated. I want to know anything that bugs you about it! Thanks again!

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

RESULT!! I didn't even finish outlining what I've already written but it helped me add in a few scenes that I think were very much needed. Also lowered the number of scenes in the first 10 pages from 20 to 15! Which I'm very pleased about... in general, I'm in page 23 now! I need to send just...

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

See, there are obviously the two main arguements  But I do think I found what's best for me. Doing the outline to what was already written, helps me keeps in charge but doesn't harm the FLOW. I'll finish it up in the weekend and get back to writing by Monday. Actually had some good ideas...

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

Well, if you want to read it I'd be happy to send it over ;) I just read the whole thing again and tried to change things as you suggested, giving only the basic guidelines, actions and descriptions. Trying to make it all as clear as possible.

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

FJ, thanks! See, that's why I kept harrassing people that I want feedback, I WANT people to tell me these things so I can fix it.. This isn't EXACTLY the first time Jacob is mentioned. He's been mentioned before only in a different age. That's why his name isn't capped. I took in mind...

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

haha FJ, as said in previous post - the outline so far will only be for what was already written! I find it too difficult to 'think' about the 'future' without actually writing the script.. but I do want to rewrite some of the scenes (especially because I have WAY too many) and thought an...

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

That's what I needed to hear, thank you! Though I've decided to give the outline another go, it's more so I can rewrite some of the things already written. I don't think I'll actually do an outline on the 'future' yet, simply because it's too difficult for me. I enjoy re-reading what I've done...

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

Another question, this time not so general lol ESTABLISHING SHOTS. My character was on a ship from Europe to New York. It has been SAID. Next scene he's having dinner in his new home in New York... An establishing shot in between, basically showing the ship 'mooring' at the dock could be pretty...

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

Margo, thank you! I have to say though it seems that writing the outline is my problem. I just can't seem to be able to summarize things! lol I'm finding it extremely difficult :(

A couple of general screenwriting questions!

Hi guys (any women here bytheway?), I just reached page 20 of my screenplay. Now I have to say I seem to dislike 'going by the book' (i.e McKee) and it seems to be a lot easier for me to just "flow" with the writing.. also a lot more enjoyable. I haven't done any sort of outline, treatment...

Would someone be willing to look over a script?

Hi there, I'd be happy to :) (seeing as I'm on the same boat looking for a reader and I know how you feel!! lol) I'm a beginner myself but I'll try my best.. laly@loc.co.il

    My new script, quick look?

I know, I'd just rather not give the link out to people who aren't signed up on the board, that way I can somehow keep track ;)

    My new script, quick look?

The script I'm currently writing (page 14, draft 1) is feature film about an elderly man who thinks he got a chance to re-live his life and therefore tries to fix his past mistakes but then understands he can only watch it rather than participate in it. The script jumps from one age to another...

    Writing a Synopsis

Well, there's no background. It's a director I like who I'm going to see, it'll be a quick meet, won't get a chance to talk much but only give him the pages I want lol Perhaps just giving the 10 pages I've written so far would be good enough then. Hopefully I'll have enough time to explain a...

    Writing a Synopsis

Well, the truth is I'm going to be meeting this director on Sunday and thought I'll give it to him. The script isn't finished yet, I can't contact him beforehand, I don't know how long he'd want it to be lol and I doubt I'll be meeting him again anytime soon.. So just trying to think what would...
