I love two of these ideas - characters drawing attention to the lights, and the TV trope. I'm not sure the latter would be able to work in this instance, but it's a very good idea.

Excatly my feeling. I'd rather lose 32 or 62 GB, that a whole TB if things go wrong. Obviously, if you're getting HD back ups it's not so bad, but I'd still be nervous.

Have to admit, I bought the G80 on a whim (and because it was 600 quid). I just love this camera. No it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a Varicam, but it's a total bargain.
