Litepanel Alternative
Just wrapped my first shoot for which I rented three Litepanel 1000w LED Lights. Starting a small production company to produce my future films. Rather than continuing to rent, I want to buy. What are the cheap options that are just as good. I like the Litepanel brand, but they seem absurdly overpriced. I need something that is bi color, and somewhat equivalent to 1000w litepanel.
Other brands I see are Zabolight, Ikan, StudioFx (on Amazon), StudioPRO (on amazon)... Anyone have personal experience with these or any other brands that you can recommend? |
Have you looked at anything from Aputure?

Maybe this can shed some light on the subject?

I have used Zabolight and Ikan panels. Both are just fine. They
are not as durable which is why they are cheaper. What you call "absurdly overpriced" is a piece of equipment that will last for many years under harsh situations and mishandling. I would say that you'll get half as much continued use out of the other panels. So you'll get about three to five years of use out of the Zabolight and Ikan panels and about 15 out of the Litepanels. |

Good lights, especially for the price. |
