As for film making...I have made a few films just recording myself...another guy on here Musonman I think, has mastered this, doubling as himself in the same video at times to get two characters onto the one screen at the same time.

A roll is the footage you think you will need, ie the main characters in shot, The slow shot of the tree that leads to the characters standing underneath talking etc etc...all the stuff you basically write into your script I guess. B roll is background stuff, ornaments on a desk, the cat...

Most of the films I review are digital, be it on i-tunes, vimeo, youtube, or other vod/free to play/pay per view systems. It is just easier then having something physically posted to you, or walking into a store to purchase. With the online platforms you can be viewing it minutes after paying...

If it is steam you are after for that pie, you might try creating some steam with a jug, or boiling pot, in front of say a very well lit greenscreen? Not sure how well that would work but my point is that it might be a case of going back to physical effects rather then virtual.

Best main stream film I watched recently was probably 'The Raid 2' Stunning fight sequences that wowed me all the way through, along with weapons such as hammers, knives, baseball bats, and the guy with the machete going through people one handed without really f**king them up was a stunning...

I can't add to this sadly as I don't live anywhere that interesting or memorable, but I do know that my local city council has traffic cams up on their website which is freely accessible to anyone who cares to look for it...in fact many city councils around the world probably have the same...

There is only one question....do you have the self drive and determination to teach yourself, be it online, playing around etc etc or do you need to sit through a course that teaches you the basics and holds your hand for you before you go and find a job, where your boss will expect you to have...
