How to rent out my RED Epic

Thank you everyone for your advice. So here is some more info to answer your questions. I'm not the owner, I rent it out and split the money with him. This is because he took a desk job while his wife is pregnant. He used to work as a freelance DP with the camera but I just graduated in 2011...

How to rent out my RED Epic

Right, I live in LA and always accompany the camera on set to make sure its well taken care of. From the research I've done my prices are about as low as they get.

How to rent out my RED Epic

By fortuitous circumstances I have sole use of a brand new RED Epic package. I've had it for a few months now and am really disappointed with how much I am able to get it rented out. My original plan of attack was word of mouth and posting on Craigslist everyday. That gets it out a few times a...

Should I pursue a film degree?

Both routes work well but I would recommend going to school even if not "film school." Internships are a great way to start getting experience and most of them require that you are a student. Working on the side is always a good idea and sound is always in demand. A lot of people I know that...

    Hi all

Welcome! I'm interested in cinematography as well. Knowing about editing is a big help in selecting shots. The only thing I know about sound is that it's super important and many overlook it :)

    Help Choosing a Camera

Living in Los Angeles I know having a 5DMarkII will get you a lot of work. People that don't know much about cameras know that the 5D will get them a great quality image so it is high in demand. It can be frustrating to work with, mostly because of sound in my opinion, but its image quality is...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Looper 9/10 Really enjoyed this. Great acting on the part of JGL, and some great call backs to old Bruce Willis movies. Compelling storytelling. Classic and beautiful cinematography. This is what Sci-Fi should be in my opinion.

    Accountability

Any progress? One thing that helped me (for a little while anyway) was to make a sign I put by my bedroom door that says, "Do it NOW!" Such a procrastinator...

Would you recommend the new Star Trek movie?

Agreed. I was never planning to see it, since I've never watched Star Trek, but I got suckered into it and i'm glad I did. :)

    Hello I'm Sara

I've been working in LA for about a year now and I'm always looking to learn more about the film industry. I'm an aspiring cinematographer very interested in gaffing right now. I currently work as an AC on the RED Epic. Looking forward to learning and growing as a filmmaker!
