Writing a Treatment for a TV Special

So I've done a lot of treatments for films and other scripted content, but very recently was asked about writing one for a TV Special eg. - The Golden Globe Awards, Fashion Rocks, MTV VMAs. And it got me curious, how does one write a treatment for that kind of tv special? Are there any...

Going through Manager Instead of Agent?

I know this topic (casting an A list Actor for a project) has been discussed before, but I have a specific question about this process. A team I worked with assigned me to contact talent agency to book an actor for a gig and let's just say things did not work out because apparently they had...

URGENT: Manager wants to attend audition - HELP!!!

This and the same goes for the actress as well! Update: The meeting got canceled as she said she would show up in 2 hours and didn't. I went to another meeting. When I got back, they were all of a sudden "ready." She felt bad and offered to meet with me. Sounds kool right? Well I guess she...

URGENT: Manager wants to attend audition - HELP!!!

Ok here's the situation. I'm a distance away from NYC and I'm suppose to audition an actress for a part. She and I knew each other before this film and before her Manager got involved. Her manager told her not to do the film, but she fought her and eventually the Manager caved. Because were...

Haha no one's hiding anything. I'm just wondering, when sending out that initial letter, how would you word it?

Pitching films with nude scenes to investors

Ahh, this one's a little tricky, Has anyone gone about making a pitch for a feature film that will include nude scenes? If so, how? Would you include the fact it has such scenes in the initial letter/e-mail or wait until the discussion process? At some point it should come up and my thoughts...

How much to offer A-Lister for Cameo?

Yup Yup everything from cast, locations, gear, catering, insurance, and we even got a contingency budget! Whoohoo! But there is a good $30,000 lying around and as oppose to "marketing" (yes, we've already budgeted for that and self-distribution as well) I think this would be a great expenditure...

How much to offer A-Lister for Cameo?

Hey everyone, So I'm about to produce a feature film with a six-figure budget. To add a little "star power" to the film, I was contemplating calling up the agents of saaay A-listers like Johnny Depp and Jonah Hill or even A list musicians like a Rihanna, Drake or Rick Ross to play a small cameo...

Does submitting a "working version" hurt chances of getting into festivals?

Thanks so much all! AudioPostExpert - your answer prompted another important question, when using withoutabox they have a section called "Format: Exhibition" which I take to mean the way the screener DVD will play. Looking at this more closely I am lead to ask: a)Are the festivals asking for...

Does submitting a "working version" hurt chances of getting into festivals?

Short. And my guess is that the scrutiny will intensify when it comes down to deciding in-competetion vs our of competetion.

Does submitting a "working version" hurt chances of getting into festivals?

Chimp - Thanks for the Advice Zen - Hahaha does the process work this way? It's my understanding festivals get thousands of submissions per year so I'm just invisioning a festival judge looking and re-looking for any minor reason to not accept the film and pass on it.

Does submitting a "working version" hurt chances of getting into festivals?

I'm just about ready to submit my film to a major festival. The problem is there's one scene in there that has a really tiny mistake in there. It's bearly noticable and last for a split second. The thing is, I noticed it, so I fancy a festival judge who watches and rewatches and rewatches and...

Withholding credit until release form signed

Ok, so we have a situation where a few people worked on set (mostly as independent contractors if paid or volunteers if not paid), but our Production Manager let them go without signing a release form? If we go ahead and credit them will they be entitled to compensation later on down the road...
