    follow focus (term, not accessory)

it does a lot more than the focus ring by itself. i doubt the follow focus system will do much more, at the level of skill i am right now. As i get more handy with focusing im sure a follow focus system will make more sense.

    follow focus (term, not accessory)

i've been learning a whole bunch of things with my t2i. Playing around with the settings to get the best image, understanding aperture, d.o.f etc. One of the things I find rather difficult is keeping the focus on a moving target (follow focus?). I've got a z-finder which is great to get focus...

    Best Light Kit (listed)

so i searched on ebay and tried to avoid the usual cheap lookin/advertised/branded ones coming from asia etc.. and wound up with these 5 on my list. I came to ask for some advice from the indietalk gods on which of these looks like it might be decent and hold up until i can get someting better...

    Lense(s) question (1.6x)

I bought a t2i not that long ago with the kit lens. 18-55 f/3.5. I also got a Canon 50mm f/1.8 Now I'm thinking about buying another lense thats a little faster than the kit lens. My budget is not too much, around 300-400max. So im debating these two: Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC IF Macro Lens...

    gettin large d.o.f with t2i?

I recently purchased a t2i with a 50mm f1.8. I've been having a great time messing around with the shallow depth of field I can get from this lens, however Im actually having a hard time gettin anything but a small bit of the shot in focus. Anyone care to explain how I can achieve this with...

Using MB Pro as Ext Monitor (t2i)

Ok so.. from what Ive gathered. The t2i does not monitor HD while recording, so the only reason to purchase , lets say a Marshall monitor (apart from having a bigger screen, SD none the less for recording purposes) would be as an investment for a future upgrade from the t2i. So I was wondering...

It might help. 1- Canon t2i w/ 18-55mm lens: Not...

How essential is a z finder (dslr)

when shooting video with a dslr? given i wont be using an external monitor. ex. outdoor shoots etc. I just purchased my first "rig" , and i was wondering if i really must include the z-finder.. given the prices and all. But it wont hurt my pocket to much if i know its a necessity.

help w/ feedback on these shotgun mics

I'm gettin a shotgun mic for dual recording w/ an h4n , i've narrowed it down to these. They all have pretty good reviews so its making it hard for me to pull the trigger on one of them. Rode NTG2 Azden SGM-1X Audio-Technica AT897 Azden SGM-1000 Azden SGM 2X

    watch Lifeless Indoors (stop motion-ish)

this is a concept i've been wanting to execute for a while. A feeling i'm sure a lot of people can relate to: the fact that life can sometimes get rather monotonous. And some pretty nasty cyclical, hibernation-like habits can be created. http://vimeo.com/14444542

    DSLR vs. Camcorder

thanks again for all the info here. This community is so helpful that I find myself loggin in almost every day , checking old/new threads to learn new things. Anyway, I've decided to go the DSLR route, and today I read the announcement of the Canon 60D. Too early to tell if its worth...
