I would probably email them a link or private link to your trailer. Then see if they are interested in seeing the whole film before you just send it to them. Try to set up a meeting or something.

Do not be so hard on yourself!! This is great for a first film. You had a lot of very interesting shots and some very intense moments. At least you are self aware enough to know that you have things to improve on. Many people are blind to their own work and think it is the best thing ever...

I agree. Anything you try to do to adjust exposure mid-shot is going to be noticeable and will look bad. Wait for consistent cloud cover, or no clouds at all. Expose accordingly. And definitely invest in an ND filter!
