Hello All, Haven't been on this site since, I am told, "12-09-2006 at 09:52 PM" What did I miss? Here's something everyone has experience and advice with, and I'd love all of it!: I'm writing and planning the production for a full-length I hope to produce this coming summer...

Perhaps Annie Hall? Quite a funny movie and very dialogue-based. Would also be interesting because, while almost every line is a joke, the movie has a very serious quality/structure to it, and isn't a "jokey" story as many comedies are, which I imagine could get annoying in a screenplay...

Two slighly unrelated examples: -Because he never (or rarely) recorded source sound in his movies, Fellini used to play records of classical music in the background while the actors were acting - kind if the same technique, but didn't, as clive was describing, break the actors' concentration...

Whoa. That to me seems like such an interesting movie. I would definitely pay ten bucks to see that. It's not really relevant per se, but you might want to check out the book Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein as a kind of discourse on the questions that your logline brings up.

And as for a reason that the patriot act is wrong, how about this: People can be arrested without charges, not be allowed to consult with a lawyer, or anything else constituting due process. As the law is written now, Bush could have all registered Democrats locked up right before the election...

Also, this movie reminds me a lot of Office Space. Really liberate the audience from their own situations, too.

I really like your idea for the movie. The idea of having the same day repeated twice really makes us connect with the character: show his boring day once, you feel bad for him. Show his boring day three times, and you're sick of his life just like he is. But be sure to make the audience care...

As long as we're all tossing opinions out... My personal opinion is, if you're going to do the 1:1, look through your script and make sure it's damn good. You're not going to make a 'visual' movie with 1:1. However, you CAN make a great 'diologue' movie, and the audience will be much more...
