    Turning clichés upside down...

Filmy, There must be a balance between writing boring action lines and writing a novel. I like your text. Another tip I heard from a well known producer was: "If I can't film it, don't write it" Which eliminates the types of lines we've all seen: "John stood there, longingly looking at...

best line of dialogue you've ever written

NARRATOR (v.o) That was Steve. His way of making a sale was to talk his customers into a coma, forcing them to part with their money before they even knew what was happening. Sometimes people would buy just to make him shut up. from "The Brokerage"

Horror vs. Thriller: What's the difference?

What Clive said. When I read my screenplay, it doesn't "scare" me the way the Grudge did. It's much more sublte. It has supernatural elements: maybe it's just a different type of horror... Horror lite? ;-)

Hello. Interested in doing this myself.

I like it! it reminds me of the type of music I heard in the movie Solaris. Pretty cool stuff! Be in touch, A

Hello. Interested in doing this myself.

Yes. A demo bit would be cool. I'm hoping to pull off a feature this summer, and would be interested in a composer. Like your other example, my ability to complete the feature is an unknown, as it will be my first. But welcome in any case, and post some music so we can listen to it.

Horror vs. Thriller: What's the difference?

The problem I am encountering is the sale of a spec script in the Inktip world. A wrong classification there will get me absolutely nowhere fast. It may be different in the film world, but when you have a dozen checkboxes to fill out, and you have to pick, a choice needs to be made. Inktip has...

Horror vs. Thriller: What's the difference?

I'm almost finished my next script, a Horrror screenplay. I mean a Thriller. No, most likely a horror. Can someone give me an industry definition between the two? My script isn't horror like, say, "The Grudge", but it does contain supernatural elements. Any help would be appreciated as I...

    InkTip vs Script Pimp

Kind of what I figured. I've had my script on Inktip and received a few inquiries as well. Clive, I think you nailed my irritation with inktip - it's kind of an armchair deal for a writer: sit and wait. I'm definately going to join scriptpimp - and also keep inktip. Thanks guys, Adamo

    InkTip vs Script Pimp

Any opinions here - competing or complimentary? Is anyone hooked up on both? I've got a screenplay on Inktip, and was wondering about joining script pimp. Any other sites an aspiring screenwriter should be aware of?

A Longwinded way of asking for advice

An Arena...wow. I would definately look to a school for this. My Kid's school out here in CA has a very impressive set of bleachers for their footbal field. The right camera angles could make it look like an arena, and the shool routinely rents it out for various events. That's the road I'd go...

A Longwinded way of asking for advice

Mike, None of your longer works have been made - so what? I'm a Yacht Broker. Yes, that's what I do for a living. It's a good job that pays extremely well and gives me time to pursue other interests. I have no movie experience other than what I wrote in the above post. None of this has...
