Have a merry Christmas and a great 2010!

Don't take too many acting gigs, though. Gotta leave a couple for me!

About Me

  • About M1chae1
    Name
    Michael Reed
    Location
    Los Angeles, CA
    Occupation
    Actor
    Biography
Born in Chandler, Arizona, in 1976. The year of the Dragon.

Chosen by the Gods to be the runt in a traveling band of gypsies. Spent his youth in Arizona, Texas, and the cold university towns of Michigan. Early years marked by a mammoth collection of GI-Joes, He-Man figures, a Huffy bike, a wardrobe full of hand-me-down rayon shirts, and the perfect, concrete hair-wave. Bestowed with honors by his high school theatre classes and, it should be noted, the recipient of several competitive acting awards. To his dismay, these stellar achievments were overshadowed by a few lowly weekend football games. Vowing revenge and armed with a video camera, Michael took refuge in a series of epic claymation movies and one-man garage performances which await an official PentaWorks release. Travelled the byways America in a cramped yet homey pull-camper, hoping to find himself, but instead found heavy drinking and several great locations for deliberate isolation. Took a brief repose in Michigan, where he studied graphic illustration and design while starring as a book store guy, a temp, a waiter, and a painter.

    Currently a resident of LA.
    Filmography
In his earlier years, Michael took to the stage, performing in scholastic, community and dinner theater. Starring in such plays as Harvey, Two Crooks and a Lady, The Serpent, and many other obscure productions.

Shortly after, his love for cinema took hold and his focus turned to film. Discounting the hundreds of shorts he made with himself and his family, his legit work began with a little zombie feature called 'LIVING DEAD WORLD', shot in Michigan by Evil Genius Entertainment. After moving to Rhode Island shortly after, this paved the way for many other features including his first nationally distributed film from Scorpio Film Releasing, 'BEYOND THE DUNWICH HORROR', directed by Richard Griffin, who Michael has gone on to work on five additional features with.

Although a smaller community, Michael has found himself very busy in the New England area. In a four year span, living in Rhode Island, he has landed lead and principle roles in almost two dozen features and shorts, including a few webseries.

Currently Michael is working on Love Squared, a webseries about four close friends drifting into their 30's, and the conflicts therein. Being shot on Red by award winning DP Eric Latek.

Tim Fife of Cinema Suicide has this to say about Michael: "The acting caliber in the film is also above and beyond it’s peers, notably the work of Michael Reed (Kenny) who has the chops and the looks of someone that could be a future favorite genre actor. "

Richard Griffin of Scorpio Film Releasing made this comment: "This dude can act like a mofo, plus he's hardworking, intelligent and prepared.."
