    Biography
Philly born, bred and settled for the vast bulk of my life except for a few periods living in Maine.

I am a life-long film geek and since college have really thrown myself into the study and appreciation of independent filmmaking. Just out of college I had the wonderful experience of busting my butt for 4 months on the crew of a low-budget indie film, working for little or no money, wrapping on a Saturday and then going straight to work on a big budget studio feature two days later, earning buckets of money but not feeling any of the joy or team spirit that I felt while working on the smaller film. The really telling moment came when I had to pick up a $3500.00 mahogany bannister for a set, a piece of wood that was only in the film for 10 seconds but cost more than my current feature is budgeted at. What a waste.

Since May 2006, I have been hired to write ten feature film screenplays, one of which was produced in January 2007 in NYC. After many false starts, I am finally getting my own feature "Aftermath" into production, tentatively in September 2007 but I am have handed over the producing and directing jobs to others and I will be perfectly happy to have been the screenwriter on this one.

I teach screenwriting and film history at Drexel University and The University Of The Arts in Philadelphia.

Besides indietalk.com, I write reviews for Home Media Entertainment magazine. I have previously written for tlavideo.com and microcinemascene.com among others.
