watch I'm very proud of this short film...

And here's why...

A. I think it is very funny.

B. We were going to shoot a different short on the day, but our tripod broke and we didn't want that short to be shot handheld, so I came up with this short little idea, because we wanted to film something

C. All of the dialogue is improvised, which I love doing improv.

D. Although, it is a parody, I feel it has a very sweet message at the end.

E. I get to post it on this forum and ask you good people for your opinion, so please leave me some feedback.

P.S. If any noobs out there are thinking of buying a DSLR, there is a shot in there, with audio that is a clear example of why you NEED an external microphone (and a windsock, plus a tripod.)

why is that a "WOW?" Im not trying to be offensive to you. I just decide the potential reward from watching your film wasn't worth listening to more f bombs after the first six or so. Its not like I stopped watching after the FIRST one, but they were just taking away from my enjoyment. Sorry that I had to pass on what was looking to be pretty funny.

it's just that it gets better after the first few f-bombs and let's be honest... "Fuck" is a word

I don't feel that they were unnecessary, considering that's just how normal people talk.... the dialogue was improvised, therefore as natural as it can be. Swear words are becoming less offensive these days, not because people are becoming more evil, but because society is maturing and realizing that they're just words.

Curse words also work as an expression of intense emotion, as this is an emotional topic (dlevanchuk's post was expected...I too have had several friends killed because of their stupid decisions.)

Can you imagine Scarface or South Park being ignored because people heard a "naughty" word? Art would slowly begin to suck if people censored themselves.

And I also do not mean to offend you either, I'm not looking to change your mind on f-bombs, and I don't mean to sound like I'm ranting, it's just that my comment "wow" was my own amazement that that was the first response I got, rather than "I liked it/hated it..." and it has a very nice message at the end, simple but nice.

Calm down man, there's a lot of people that don't appreciate cussing. Did you expect to please everyone? It's a cultural thing... does it make sense for a word to be offensive, probably not, but call someone a son of a donkey in turkey and you'll probably be killed for it. Just accept the culture.

Anyway, watched it, and not my bag. It's WAY to dark for me, even considering it's supposed to be dark humor.

Congrats on shooting something though. Next time if you want the most people possible to see it and like it, do what the studios do and shoot an easy story with a PG-13 rating haha.

Thanks for the actual feedback... For subjects that aren't as dark as this, that's what we'll try to do in the future. I will heed your advice.

Wasn't quite my cup of tea.

I dunno. Growing up, I had to hear about people dying in DDAs all the time, and since it was a small town, everyone heard about EACH one.

And it was sort of creepy for me considering one of those guys looks oddly similar to one of the guys I knew...

I did laugh at the "It hurt" line.

Seems that your audience enjoyed it based on the comments section.

Good work getting it shot at all, because I probably wouldn't have if my tri-pod broke.

We were gonna shoot something else, which I would NEVER do handheld, because I want that one to be something much higher in quality. But, we came up with this idea and ad-libbed, edited all the footage down into 2 minutes, and it turned out great.

EDIT: Previous comment that was here was not helpful. I did watch the whole thing.
Im glad you like it and feel its great. Keep at it. Whats next?

Not sure. All I'm doing with these shorts is gearing up my technical and creative experiences to make an actual feature film. Just making experimental comedy sketches until then.

I thought it was pretty funny. I can see why some people would take offense since it seems to not take drinking and driving seriously. The cuss words did not bother me.

I remember in my college days talking to my college friends at taco bell and a angry parent coming up to us and complaining about us cussing. We used cussing so much that to us it was not big deal and just everyday conversation to us. But to the other guy that complained it was a shock to him.

Also, reminds me one time during break form college visiting the grandparents for a meal and I acidently cussed not really thinking about it tell after I did it. I just got so used to talking like that in college and not worrying what people thought that I made that mistake at my grandparents house. Ha...

Anyways, good short film. I liked it for what it was a short skit that should not be taken too seriously.

Pulp Fiction, The Departed, Big Lebowski, Scarface, Good Will Hunting, The Town, Superbad...

These are some of the films that have the highest counts of F-bombs. And audiences loved them.

I don't think the colorful language is the main problem with this short film. To me, the attempts at humor can all be seen coming from a mile away. Humor only works when your audience is surprised. Surprise your audience, and no fucks shall be given by anybody.

Guy in the glasses was the best bit. His comments seemed effortless. I'd pick a different angle when shooting him though, maybe I pay too much attention to detail, but I could see you in the reflection. Made it seem kinda cheesy.
