16-year curse in Texan politics.

I don't think he's saying anything positive or negative about any canidate, just applying this curse theory to his Summer Glau one.

That said though, George W Bush was a Texas Governor who was elected President right in the middle of your time span, so I don't think it's a very solid theory.

Again, nothing positive or negative about any names mentioned...

This is just a fun discussion, not about politics.

But Bush got elected in the middle, so the curse doesn't apply to him. Now, what if Summer Glau was to be Governor and do a reality show on that? :D

I'm sure it will be said but there's a no talking politics policy on a forum. It can never end well!

It is easier if you automate the process, ala madlib.

You are a f*****g communist/fascist/rhino.
I am a sofisticated advocate of the masses/entrepeneur/pony.
GTFO.

PD: Your mom is a whore/clown/goat.

The headline is wrong. There's no curse! It's a 16-year blessing. The one outlier mentioned just couldn't count.

There is no way this thread can be not about politics.

Isn’t that a great thing about these “curses”?

You find a pattern and it’s a “curse”. You find that the pattern
was broken so you say the “curse” doesn’t apply to that break so
the “curse” still stands.

No matter how you play it the “curse” is valid.

That's where the fun comes in. :D

Im here in Texas and all I have to say is I shot me a coyote when I was out jogging this morning.
You were out jogging with a pistol.

For real?

Do you carry a balanced pair for upper body cardio? :)

I think the coyote must've been a write in candidate for the "Furries" party.
He/they lost.

Was the coyote wearing a red shirt?

I realize you're all into this "curse" thing, but the red shirt thing doesn't really apply. In Star Trek, shirt color indicated where they worked. Red was security, gold was command and blue was science (in TOS anyway...TNG reversed that for morale purposes). Considering that the concept is explorers, the security force is more likely to be killed than the science officers.

The mortality of security officers (redshirts) is certainly a running joke, but it's not the same as, say, the odd numbered trek film "curse" or anything involving Summer Glau (though Tim Minear would be more appropriate, as that Summer's been in a lot more shows that have had a second season than Tim has been involved in).

On a related note, have you checked out tvtropes.org? Seems like it'd be right up your alley :)

I've been thinking along the same lines as you, and I'd like to know the number of red shirts in TOS that were NOT killed. That said, it's a fun thing to think about.

As for writing for tvtropes.org, I'm fleshing out a SF script, which I hope to make into a ULB movie, even as I look out for opportunities.
