watch Trying out a completely new technique

Very nice.

Were you having to tighten down your aperture to keep from blowing out the clouds in the sky?

Now that you've established that the principle works, I bet an evening shoot would provide a good balance between dark foreground and not-as-bright sky, maybe a sunlit field & forest with the setting sun 90° to the camera or behind it.

I'm paying more attention than she was?

Ray on the set - "OMFG! Can you NOT see that I'm doing something here? First day out, fata$$"?

One of the things we do on this forum is share and help each other become better.
But i understand how you feel.
Actually uve inspired me to try something on this scale.

How did you do it Phil??? HOW DID YOU DO IT?!?!?

Im guessing the track is being moved. Like if you have three connecting toy train track parts, the camera can be on the middle one while the first one is taken and laid at the end, camera slowly moved while taking pictures and then the part the camera just vacated is moved to the end. You could continue like this for quite a while. I also noticed some movement and shake in the timelapse. It's not as smooth as motorized slider ones which further supports that the camera is being moved manually. The shake was probably even more evident and am guessing it's been stablized in post.

Tripod on a pneumatic wheeled wagon pulled along a paved public jogging trail? Or is pea gravel causing the jitter?

Lay down a meter stick, frame shot (likely with remote), pull wagon 10cm, frame shot, pull wagon 10cm, frame shot, etc.
Simple enough.

I think Ernest might be right.

a.) Because that's how they made stone henge.
b.) Because Phil was telling me that he picked something like that up in Amsterdam.
