So, what's going on with me?

Well, my Metastatic Carcinoid is still there in my body, making me feel weak and giving me enough pain to spend my days in bed begging for the pain to go away. I lay there and shake uncontrollably unable to pick up the camera and turn it on. I fear my days as a filmmaker have passed me by.

I'm no longer employed thanks to my cancer but at least I'm receiving disability so there's money coming in.

All in all, I get to check...

There was no shoot. Last Thursday night I started experiencing pain. Bad pain. It kept me up all night long and I watched the sun rise Friday morning. I stayed home Friday so I could try to get some rest, but the pain wouldn't let me.

I spent all weekend in bed. Literally. I could barely get out to take care of the house or use the facilities.

Here it is... Monday morning. I still feel a bit of residual pain, but it seems to be going away. I hope by tonight it's gone....

We're in the home stretch for 2007. The year is coming to a close and I'm getting antsy. I've finally accepted a temporary defeat in letting this cancer get the best of me. There WILL BE NO MOVIES from LOC in 2007. I just can't do it. I apologize.

However, I have lots of stuff on the back burner for 2008. Really, how bad could next year be? I am optimistic that 2008 will bring me better health and the ability to start shooting a few projects that's been gnawing at me.

Well, I've returned from a three day stay at the hospital. Things went well... for the most part.

I get a call on Wednesday from the hospital asking if I have been taking the pre-op meds they wanted me to take. Um... what meds? This is the first I've heard about this.

I had to leave work early to get the meds and start taking them immediately to prepare for the early Thursday morning surgery. When I arrive, the hospital isn't ready for anything. And I mean that. Apparently,...

Here we go again. There's hope in the air, but it's laying low and thick like cigar smoke in an old bar.

I visited my oncologist for my (now) three week treatment (stabbing). He asked if I had scheduled an appointment for this liver injection therapy. Last week, I called twice and left messages for the radiologist that went unanswered so he called for me and set the appointment for early November. He's 80% sure that this treatment will completely kill the cancer inside me.
