We wanted to share one of our vfx tests. It is rough but we did do a breakdown on how it was done for you to see the process.

Alex,

Awesome work!
I was happy to purchase the Broken DVD. I can't wait for more!

What software apps are you using?

Like what did you use for keying?

What did you use for the "electric hands" effect?

any plugins?

Thanks! We used Apple's SHAKE. All done in Shake. The hands is a combo of a ton of tricks. I could tell you but then I would have to kill you. :D

I, too, am curious to see what you can do with the feature. I purchased the Broken DVD and throughly enjoyed it. While my DP and I didn't agree with everything you said about how to shoot DV to make it look like film we still implimented some of your techniques. It's always good to hear how others tackle these problems.

Thanks! DP's always have there own way of doing things. The thing is to open yourself up to new ideas and not to be dogmatic about your art. :D
