A record label has indicated they're interested in giving me the rights to use one of their songs on the soundtrack of my short film, now in post. (I have not yet contacted the publishing co.) They've requested that I send them a 'Deal Memo.' I've heard of such a thing, but have yet to see one. Before I make a decision whether or not to proceed in this direction, I need to learn more about this type of document and the information it needs to contain. Can anyone provide assitance/advice?
