Browsing for cheap mixers.

I've been shopping around looking for a good mic setup. I've read in past threads that if you're running the sound into the camera, it's best to put it through a mixer first. So, I picked I was wondering if this cheap mixer would get the job done. I'm not exactly rolling in cash right now , so I'm also wondering how much of a necessity a mixer is in the first place? I'm probably going with an azden mic and shock mount and an $80-90 boom pole. Just something to hopefully get the job done. Any advice?

Edit: I was also looking at something like this since I'm going to have to convert that XLR into mini anyway. Could I use something like that instead of a mixer?

Serjus, have you considered checking out the musician sites? For example--

This one is cheap, but only 1/4 inch, no XLR

Why don't you try going to musiciansfriend.com -- search for "mixer" and sort the results by price - low to high. You will find a lot of choices that are very affordable. I have ordered from this site once before and had no problem with the billing or delivery. They seem reputable.

You might also try searching for other "Music instrument" online stores like Sam Ash, etc.
