Frivilous and pointless I know...

I haven't played this game for a while, so here goes

1) Tarkovsky's - Stalker
2) Kurosawa's - Living (Seriously considering remaking this one)
3) Harvey (May still remake this one day)
4) Mel Brooks - The Producers (The original - Zero Mostel, genius)
5) Benioux's - Diva
6) Luc Besson's - The Big Blue (or Nikita, or Subway)
7) Wim Wender's - Paris Texas
8) David Lynch's - Blue Velvet
9) Junet's - Amelie
11) Coen Brother's - Miller's Crossing

As usual the list isn't long enough, I haven't any Sergio Leone on the list or any Lynsey Anderson ("Walkabout" ought to be on there somewhere). There's also no Hitchcock, "Rear Window" resonates with my preoccupation with the audience as voyeur.

What strikes me about this list is how few Amercian directors are on it. Lynch, Mel Brooks and Harvey.

I beleive the point is the movies were made so perfectly, that you wish you would have been the one to make it... not remake it.

Miller's Crossing
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original)
Primer
Blair Witch Project (I don't really care if you hate it)

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
The Killing
Rear Window

With the exception of Raiders, these all seem like doable movies for a low, independent budget and probably were. That's the goal. A great independent feature for a reasonable independent budget.

(In no particular order except #1)

1. Akira Kurosawa's Ran (The most visually stunning film ever created!)
2. Fight Club

4. Maximum Overdrive
5. Dawn of the Dead

7. Friday
8. Pink Floyd The Wall

1. Evil Dead 2- would've been a blast to shoot!
