John Whitney tells the story on what his first day directing on Horrors of War was like. Managing a tank, a jeep, extras, costumed actors and two pages of dialogue in a single shot.

This is a series of WEB DOCS on the making of Horrors of War, a WWII action-horror-sci fi story coming soon. These documentaries are DVD-style tidbits showing the behind the scenes workings of a low budget indie film.

Yeah, that sounds like a movie set...These are great, keep them coming...I request a piece on the audio capturing and lighting design ;)...because I'm greedy.

Funnily enough I'm talking to the 2 DoP's about what they want to do their's on and one of them had some things to say about lighting design.

The next one on deck for this coming week is another INDIE FILM TIP on some editing tricks...

The docs are very professional. Like something you'd see on IFC... or maybe, you WILL see on IFC. ;)

Ditto.

These are fantastic not only cause they provide some NTS stuff, but they are well done.

I'd like to see one about the preproduction and the business plan you guys put together.

Poke

I hand't thought of that. We did do a business plan and a prospectus. I'm a huge advocate of filmmakers getting to know more about the "business" half of "movie business" so that's one I had not considered.

JoBlo.comSays some really great things about Horrors of War!

"Think SAVING PRIVATE RYAN meets RE-ANIMATOR meets DOG SOLDIERS, i.e.- a buttload of fun and good times! How cool is that? And after checking out the trailer, I'm sold- this one is gonna blow the other DVD completely away!"

How's THAT for a kick arse quote?
