Hi, I was just wondering what you thought the best MiniDVs were and where to buy them.

I'm using maxell 8-packs from sam's club.

Panasonic AY - DVM63MQ

63 mins, usually special-order but not really pricier. :cool:

Quite honestly, I've always used the Panasonic tapes you can get at most any store and haven't had a single drop out. Works well enough for me and I can easily get more if I need to which can matter if you're in a tight spot and want to keep the camera on one tape type. :)

ZS beat me to it, Panasonic Mini DV Master tape # AY-DVM63MQ. They call it "Master" for a reason. ;)

I use only the Panasonic Master tapes (AY - DVM63MQ). The five pack is a pretty good deal.

I didn't realize they were this popular, although I may know why Steve is using them. ;)

Wow! I only use those same Panasonic tape myself. We really ARE some kind of cult, aren't we....

I've heard that if you find a brand you like stick with it. Otherwise you will dirty your heads faster because all the companies use different stuff on their tapes and using different brands will cause a faster build up somehow. Just what I've heard.
