Hello,
I am getting together my equipment list for a location shoot on the Moors of Northern England. One piece of kit that I would find useful is a battery powered display to plug into my MiniDV camera.

- I just need something to impove on the camera's viewer.
- I will be far from the nearest road so anything that requires a generator is out.
- It would need to be low powered, preferably with an internal battery.
- The Camera has S-Video, Firewire and Standard AV connections.
- I was thinking about a Handheld DVD player, but wondered if there is anything more tailored for the job.
- Basically laptop size without the computer.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Thanks Knightly,
now that I know it's called a 'Field Monitor' it will make my search a lot easier.

Cheers,

Just an update on this question.

I finally bought a 8 inch LCD display from Maplin.co.uk the colour balance isn't great but for framing it's just fine £149.99. My camera plugs in okay and I picked up a couple of 'Rechargeable Emergency Jumpstart and 12V Power Supplies' £39.99 each, which means that I can run the monitor and camera for 12 hour(ish) without worry about batteries or power supplies.

Buying similar 'professional' kit would have cost me a fortune. I've manged to get all I need for the price of a few days hire time.
