After Effects question

I am trying to make an opening sequence to my film in AE, nothing too fancy just some animated text. My problem is when I import it into PP the back color layer from AE is still there and it blocks out the footage I'm trying to lay the text over. I've tried a few different things and nothing has worked yet. Can anyone help with this problem? I already know that you can animate text in PP but I'm doing more complicated stuff that PP can't do. (Just thought I'd throw that in before someone mentions it)
