New format thought

I was looking through pages covering all of the old formats that have passed by, and those that have stayed with us. While browsing, I came across what has got to be my favourite small format, 9.5mm. As to its merits or disadvantages, I care not, for putting sprocket holes BETWEEN frames makes much more sense, at least to me. It allows much more exposure area, at a rather small cost of running time. Of course, I think steadyness of the image might be a problem too, without all of the registration opurtunities . But here is what I was toying around with in the back of my mind. A 16mm filmstock with the perforations between frames instead of on either side. Just bouncing that idea off of you guys, wondering what you thought. Who knows, with enough interest maybe some tinkering could begin.
