Hey there. I just edited my first feature on avid. Got a good version for about 400.00. A friend of mine edited his on PINACLE, which is less expensive. Many will tell you that APPLE Final cut pro is better than PJC Premiere...there you go.

I will be finishing my audio on Premiere...good luck with your projects

If you don't have the budget for the full-fledged Premiere Pro software, Adobe also sells a basic stripped-down version of it called Premiere Elements for $99.

They also offer a bundled Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements for $150.

(Vegas also has a $99 no-frills version of their software as well. Forgot what it's called)

Zensteve, do you know where I can get the Premiere Elements?

I've seen it up the road at CompUSA.

Here's the Adobe page for the bundled package.

http://www.adobe.com/products/psprelements/overview.html

...and here is the Premiere Elements page, where you can download a demo/trial before ponying over the loot.

http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/main.html

I've no idea how good/bad it is compared to PremPro, so it's probably worth doing the demo/trial.

Man, I'm having a tough time deciding which software to pick. I'll probably have to get demos on all of them.
