Would the Power Mac be worth $800 dollars more? I will probably start with Final Cut express, and then upgrade to Studio when I am ready.

But I would need a Mac that can handle Final Cut Studio well.

Any thoughts?

I'm using the G5 iMac with the 2 GHz and 1GB RAM upgrade. I got it for just under $1,900 at PowerMax.

It's great for running final cut and DVD Studio Pro

I'd say that if money is no object, the speed bump and the xtra processor are worth the money. My brother has the dual 2.0 Ghz Powermac and it's a smokin' machine. The iMac is decidenly less so although it should be adequate for video editing, as long as you're not doing too much rendering.

There is no question here. Get the power Mac spend the extra money these machines are worth it. I bought a G3 power mac when it first came out and it still runs like I just took it out of the box. My girlfriend uses it for photoshop. So yes I know $800 is alot but it's well worth it. Good luck.
