I need this information for script I am helping my friend with. The only softcore arthouse porn title I know of is Emmanuelle, a French film made in 1974. Do you know of any other titles from the 1970s? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I did a search for Caligula on Amazon.com, and from that I found The Story of O (1975), The Image (1976), Wife To Be Sacrificed (1975), and of course Emmanuelle (1974).

Caligula is pretty hardcore, actually. I don't think Amazon would carry it -- I guess they do have it. There's some pretty good stuff in there, though it's kind of disconcerting to watch Malcom McDowell in a porn flick.

If I remember correctly, I think Ebert gave Emannuelle four stars. That was back in his single days, though.

I ordered the uncut version of Caligula and watched it for the first time today... Wow... I - I don't know what to say! :lol: Even though it had some pretty hardcore stuff in it, it still had the artistic qualities I was looking for. It was actually a pretty decent film.
