Bridge Magazine now a Bimonthly

Some of you may remember seeing the BRIDGE journal/DVD combo released in March 2003, which was the first domestic release of David Cronenberg's short film "Camera", as well as presenting short films by Miranda July, Tom Palazzolo, and many others. BRIDGE is now a bimonthly magazine, independently published in Chicago, which specializes in covering neglected aspects of cutting-edge culture. Our latest issue in this format includes a special section, "The Triumph of Expolitation", which showcases essays by Eric Schaefer and Alan Soble discussing Wishman, Corman, Mondo, Full Moon, grind shows, softcore, pornography, and “The Mainstream”, an interview by David Andrews with noted filmmaker-turned-Playboy-programmer Tom Lazarus (who has some choice words for "the Industry"), rare "adults only" stills, a reading checklist, and more. Previous issues in the new format showcased independent artists and writers like Christo & Jeanne-Claude, Jonathan Ames, David Berman, Aimee Bender, Deborah Stratman, Dan Peterman, Walter Mosley, and many others. Future issues of BRIDGE will continue to look closely at independent culture and film. BRIDGE is accepting proposals for feature-length articles and criticism, although potential contributors are urged to read a recent issue first. Since every issue of BRIDGE opens with several pages of arts news, please send your press announcements and other queries to us c/o: Tom Burtonwood, Managing Editor. For more information, please visit: www.bridgemagazine.org.
