Writer, Sketch Comedy

BrevityTV is a team of professional and aspiring videomakers. This is us: bit.ly/1lofkmj Our goal each year is to make as many videos as we possibly can, on near-zero budgets, and to get as many hits as possible form them.

While turning a little profit some day would be nice, currently no one involved makes any money. Our motivation is getting to work with qualified, vetted, like-minded individuals, to create a body of work that speaks for all involved much better than what we might be able to create on our own, and overall to hone our craft. There are no membership dues.

We've begun our sixth season of sketches, which will be produced under the theme "Geeks in Love." Meanwhile, we're also interested in expanding our production to include content that is more responsive to current events, via a new channel. At this transition point, we'd be interested in finding a few new writer friends to hang out with us and make the funny.

Our writers normally meet every Monday night, in Culver City. (Sorry, but only people who can meet in person will be considered.) We also have all-group meetings, normally once a month on a Sunday evening, normally in Hollywood. We look for writing that is funny, smart, quirky, and sexy, in that order. Broader, low-brow stuff isn't really our style.

Interested? Send a writing sample and cover letter to recruiting@brevitytv.com.

We cannot respond to everyone who will reply, but will read every submission with real human eyeballs, and will get back to those who seem like an excellent match. Out of respect for your time and ours, please acknowledge that you've read this entire message (and understand that this is an UNPAID opportunity--not a job listing, but a membership in a collective) by starting your message with the phrase "Comedy Scribe."
