Just some idea my wife and I were chating about tonight.

would you all be into doing some shorts based on the same hero.?

ok so here is the idea a 007 sort of a person gets off a bus or our of a cab or what ever, there job is to do one thing, we never know what the person looks like also we never really know what there job is.

at the end of the short they get into a cab or what even then the next person picks up where the last person left off and so on.



post your idea here and maybe we can come up with a real cool story.

or meet me in Chat one night and we can chat about it there.

This sounds similar to the "Lady X" project. It was spy series of I think 26 episodes that were produced around the world using different crews. They laid a basic premise that "Lady X", dressed black and you never see her face, hands out an assignment and the story goes from there. At the end, Lady X shows up to get the results of the mission.

Lady X used to be pretty neat. Last episode I saw was #4, I think... long time ago on I-Film or Atom Film. I had no idea they had various people doing all the episodes. :cool:

ok I am in Vancouver BC so thats -8 zulu West Coast of Canada ;)

I've been thinking about the character a little bit--here are a few ideas:

The lead character could be a just a "mystery man." Not necessarily a spy, perhaps he is a drifter, well known in certain 'underground' circles as the man who can solve your problems--maybe good, maybe bad. He goes wherever he is needed. He has no affiliations, no loyalties. To me this could open up more possibilities for storytelling. It is important to him (and therefore convenient to us) that he keep a non-descript appearance. He could wear a long black coat. We will want to shield his face and hair, so perhaps he could wear a hat..my vote would be for a classic style fedora. Give him a bit of sophistication and a nostalgic quality. Hopeully, these items are easily available at the local Salvation Army.

He should have a 'signature' item...a rabbit's foot, a Zippo lighter, something that he carries and/or uses so we can reinforce the consistency of the character (we could open this for group vote).

Well if it's Friday for the chat I'm not around.. that'd be half way through my shift at work. wouldn't be home until 1am West Coast time.. (3am Central) on Saturday morning. Then with my all day shoot that Saturday I doubt I'd be up for a chat session at that time.. so if I miss it, please email the specifics to me as well as to Zensteve.

Back story:
In the past, a bother and sister were recruited and trained by SBR (the agency).
They soon realized that the agency was evil, so they escaped. Now they are being chased by SBR, because SBR will not allow someone to leave them. To avoid be captured together, they went their separate ways and vowed never to see each other again. Somehow, though, they have a special connection, it could be due to some special experiment done by SBR, or maybe just a sibling bond...but somehow they have a connection to each other. Now that they have escaped, they are always on the run, and they support themselves by taking jobs helping people. The help might be for good, might be for bad, might be with good intentions but ends up bad. Regardless, they always act with skill, precision, and professionalism. Their reputations are well known in underground circles. But they must keep on the move to stay ahead of the SBR.

Rules:
-Movies are to be no more than 20 minutes in length, including credits. No minimum time is required.
-It is allowed for the two characters to appear in the same episode, but they can never willingly/knowingly interact.
-Both characters wear long black coats and black hats (fedora for the male).
-We never see either's face.
-Their dialogue should be kept to a minimum, and if they do talk, it is in a low whisper.
-The characters names are not known and should not be revealed.

Options:
-The episodes can feature either character. (See RULES above for restrictions about both characters together.)
-The brother carries a silver zippo lighter, which he flicks as a nervous habit. It is a gift from his sister. This can be used in the story if desired.
-Both heros have a copy of a picture (of the two of them) from when they were kids. This can used as a prop if it suits the mood. (This pic will be provided to all via internet download. Print and use as needed.)
-The movies can feature as much or as little of the back story as desired by the storyteller
-Plot elements that CAN be included (though not required) are; heros being sought out /chased by SBR agents, heros taking/resolving a freelance "muscle" job, investigating the status of the sibling, having a "link" with the sibling, hero trying to destroy the SBR.
-The subject of cigarettes came up but was never resolved. We have votes FOR and AGAINST the use of cigarettes. (My suggestion would be this...let's say our hero is a smoker, hence the zippo lighter, but he is trying to quit. If anyone includes him smoking in their movie, at the end of the episode he should
throw out the pack with a vow to try "once again" to quit smoking. This way, if he is not smoking in the next one...he is doing well with quiting. That might even be worked into the dialogue. If he is smoking again next time around...well, relapses happen. If he DOES smoke, he smokes Dunhill brand cigs.)
-Hopefully, we will have some music created to suit all different types of moods/settings. These MP3 files will (again, hopefully) be available for download by anyone working on the project and you can incorporate them into your movie as desired. This will help form a consistant musical theme throughout the project, BUT you can always opt to create different music if you wish.
-Please try to incorporate something indentifiable of your local region so we can show our characters "getting around." Perhaps include a title overlay at the beginning showing the city and state.

I talked to my bro John Sampson of fall Guy Productions today about the short film.
No worries we have the start of the film covered off all gack and guns are a go, I will go into production in a week or two with the start of the film and be fended two by Jan we will film on Sundays as most of my Industry friends have Sundays off. I am however trying to get Sebastian Spence to do the voice over for the start of the film and maybe do a cameo for it.


All I need do is finish my script and synopsis and that will be dun by tonight

the photo was taken in 1945 the other one I dont know but they are of my mom she past away five years back and my uncle in Belgium. he gave me the story of the Dog in the photo, they found him on a train of all places and took him home with them, he says it was the best dog they ever had.

Will,

Bophe volunteered to write a collection of musical themes to use for this project. Our intention was to create about 6 musical pieces that suit a variety of moods. (For example, we would have a fast-pasted action one, a moody somber one, a "walkin' though the park" style song, a "suspensful, something-is-about-to-happen" song, etc...you get the idea). These would be about 1 to 2 minutes long each. When we get these done, we will post them on our website and make the link available to all of you so you can use them IF YOU WANT. You are certainly welcome to create your own music and use it if you prefer. I think it would be a good idea that any original music created for this series be shared with the group, so we could build a library of music that can be used consistently throughout the series.

I will keep everyone updated on our progress with this music. Thanks!

john,got youre e mail of project slated to shoot.....interested in the hit man role,the guy who tracks down the art thieves.....i know youre shootin short but feel as if i dont know the a thieves,but also the opportunity to flush out hit man role seams understated or under characterized.....this piece doesnt say much more than you will be caught if you steal art......the meat to me is in youre development of the type of person who ...a..could plan a heist...and ..b..the kind of person who would spend there talents tracking art thieves.....for example....there is not a scene of the tracker,reviewing dossier of thieves.....or for that matter any planning on the thieves part...simple setup in my opinion,will lend truth and create jepordy for the audience who have limited info to build opinions about the piece.....shadows and light,and the moment in time.without faith in the characters an audience always will side with the belief that without a connection emotionally with the players,that the piece is self serving......driven by a singular ego driven interpretation.......of what the artist believes is poignant.....would love to sit with you and go over youre piece.....interested in the hit man rolr only if you are willing to let me flesh out a character expose.....will talk soon....sebastian

JohnOh love them all man.. ;) me thinks we will have to have a vote on each one LOL

I like the logos... I think there should be a silhouetted figure walking... about the size of the "I" in Gemini... hand in pocket, and other hand tipping the brim down. I have all these things too... like the zippo... the trench coat... even black gloves to go with it. I'd want in!

Also, I'm thinking I like the drifter idea. I'm thinking yeah, he works with all kinds of people, and uses them for good or bad. One thing he's good at is manipulating... like almost genetically engineered for it, like, it's a sinister art form. Maybe we can even keep the gender secret now that I think about it. But anyway, he works with all these people to get by, but for the sole purpose of finding himself. A nice artistic touch might be that we all build to a center... a middle, and then do some sort of mirror/twin storys building back out, almost bringing us back to the beginning/ end giving us a gemini effect. I've been out of the loop here, so if you guys have been talking about this and have it all figured out, ignore me and my posts. I'm sort of just getting on board now! If the ideas sound somewhat cool, then yay!

Guys--Charles and I like the green as well, so I think I will stick with that color going forward. I want to make a few changes to it. For example, I have already modified the female silhouette to be less slouchy (and nicer legs and hair!). You can see this on the link I posted--first image in red. I may also want to give the guy a better arm. I will post another update when I think it is done (should be done by this weekend). Thanks!

Hey everyone, I was just wondering how everyone's doing on thier Gemini thing. At my end, we're in pre-production, and getting awfully close to filming soon. We need to scout out some locations still, but everything else is coming together. I was just wondering if anyone out there is close to being finished, and who we can expect to see up here first. We were also wondering (because we have a prop or two to get) about the outfit. Is this guy in a suit, or is it just any kind of black clothes? Also, what kind of fedora is it... wide brim or short brim? We have ideas, but we didn't want to conflict too much with the flow of everyone else's projects. I guess that's it for now... Let me know whats up!!!

I have all my props at last and my Camera, had a set back a few weeks back becuse Sebastian Spence got on the set up some movie being shot in Vancouver, dont ask me what the name is as I have no idea, and the other actor is teaching yoga right now on the weekends and that is the only time I can shoot.

We are looking at shooting it in two weeks well I am shooting Hazardfilms small part of his feature film trailer.

now its back to the start all over again, get the props the camera the actors, WILL THIS NEVER END Aghhh
