View Full Version : If anyone is interested.. Will Vincent 10-27-2004, 11:14 PM Just ran across this site, thought it might be of interest to others besides myself.. http://www.homebuiltstabilizers.com/ Cheers Pink Guy 10-27-2004, 11:22 PM I've been to HBS many times ... there are some pretty inspiring designs on there, of course there are some pretty silly ones as well. Poke Zensteve 10-27-2004, 11:31 PM HBS has a lot of good links, yes. Just make sure you know who you're buying from, should you decide to buy a home-made one instead of making it yourself. http://www.stevenrichards.com/images/smiley_creepy.gif indietalk 10-27-2004, 11:36 PM Zen knows all about that  Shaw 10-27-2004, 11:38 PM Yeah I guess! Still no fix to your purchase problem Zen? I've been wanting to build myself a body mounted stabilizer for some time but I keep finding ways to put off designing it. Ah well, one of these days. Zensteve 10-28-2004, 12:11 AM I actually did get it, on Day 60. But it was like pulling teeth. It works okay, and I've used it a few times. It's basic physics, after all. Even if it had been shipped immediately, it would still have been overpriced though... and that includes my laziness factor, instead of making one. The monopod also extends a full 2 feet (at least) less than advertised. Burn in hellfire, Hellfire. (or whatever other new name you've developed this month to start over... again) Will Vincent 10-28-2004, 06:36 AM Well I'm a DIYer... so I'll be building one for sure.. an a crane/jib.. and a dolly, etc. :) CootDog 10-28-2004, 11:34 AM Hey, if you want to make a Jib, check out this tutorial. These guys are awesome: http://www.sticktowhatyouknow.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=cameratalk;action=display;num=109702 9392  Will Vincent 10-28-2004, 05:02 PM Nice.. thanks for the link Coot. I've got a few ideas up my sleeve though. :) Shaw 10-28-2004, 06:43 PM Be sure to post pics when you are done :) I'd love to see them. Will Vincent 10-28-2004, 07:19 PM Will do.. I'll probably take a bunch during the build process too, so it won't be impossible to replicate, if one so desired.. But it'll be a bit before I get started on it, got some other projects that I need to deal with first. King Goldfish 10-28-2004, 08:11 PM Thats a neat site. I guess I will get rid of the shopping cart then :D |
