I'm fairly surprised there's not an FX section anywhere around here.. that would be cool me thinks..

Maybe sub divide it:

- CG FX
- Makeup FX
- Miniatures
etc..

anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has info, or links where there is info about how to make breakaway glass.

I seem to recall a few years back reading something about making it with some kind of sugar mixture, but I haven't found that again. I'm just trying to build up my library of sources and how-to stuff.

Here's some links related to breakaway glass I've found interesting so far:

SMASH! Plastic "Breakaway Glass" from Smooth On (http://www.smooth-on.com/PDF/smashplastic.pdf)
Prefab breakaway glass, sheets & Glasswear (http://www.performancesolutions.net/break.html)

Oh! I found a sugar glass recipe (http://www.bonus.com/contour/beakman/http@@/www.bonus.com/beakman/news/021300/recipe.html)! (It's kind of 'kid oriented.. but hey, might work..')

That's cool.. any kind of FX is interesting to me. It's what I wanted to do, before I decided I should direct. ;)

There could be endless forums, sound, music, editing, special effects, whatever... but all of these will fit into either Production, or Post Production.
