Can anyone point me to a good web calculator that can covert "feet of film" to "minutes" by format, frame rate, etc?
I'm too lazy to even try to do the math myself!
Thanks!

That chart's not accurate. 1 foot of 35mm is 13 frames. 1 foot of 16mm is 40 frames. Both run at 24fps, so 1 sec of 35mm is 24/13=1.85 feet. 1 sec of 16mm is 24/40=0.6 feet. Multiply either number by 60 to get feet/minute.

So 1 sec. of 35mm film is 1.85ft. and not really 18 inches or 1.5ft.
1.85 x 60 = 111.
So 1 minute of 35mm film is actually 111ft, NOT the 90ft. I’ve always known it to be?
I’ve been using the 90ft. per minute for 25 years. According to the Editors Guild (http://www.editorsguild.com/newsletter/JanFeb03/tip_math.html) 35mm film is 16 frames per foot.
Maybe you're right - but I'm gonna stick with the conversion chart I've been using.

Just click here (http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/16mm/resources/index.jhtml?id=0.1.4.7&lc=en) and on the Film Calculator. It's your best friend when trying to figure this stuff out. ;)

I will (gladly) stand corrected. Thanks for the link to the Editor's Guild article.
