watch An unnecessary prequel to an unnecessary series...

Hey all! It's been a while, but I finally got around to finishing my next video, Sword Fight Club: Origins. You can watch it here, and read all about it below:

I made the other two Sword Fight Club videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq-o9TKVtRo, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOLBBrJ52mo) late last year with some friends from school, and we decided that it would be cool to have an origin story of all the characters in those videos. Unfortunately it took a really long time to film this in segments when people were free, and some of the original actors were sick of being a part of the stupidity that is these videos, so the full-on miniseries that we originally planned on turned into a 4-and-a-half minute mishmash of clips that we made up on the spot. If it seems disjointed, that's probably why :D

As I found out while making this video, sound design is by far the most infuriating aspect if you don't know what you're doing. Seriously, I had no idea what I was doing while making the sound to fill in, so any tips on that area in particular would be greatly appreciated.

The story we initially planned on would have made everything make sense (there is a pretty complicated network of story threads hashed out on my desktop), but as it stands now, "Origins" only really serves as an advertisement for the final video in the series. To that end, does it work? Does it hold your interest/entertain you/seem funny? It's funny to all my friends because we all know the people in the video, but that doesn't mean people who don't know us personally would find it funny, of course.

Lastly, how do you guys recommend handling larger projects? "Origins" was by far the largest project I've worked on so far in terms of the amount of footage I shot and the amount of time it took from beginning to end, and I felt a bit out of my element while putting it together. Any advice?

Thanks for watching!
