I'll be getting 50mm 1.8 lenses tomorrow

I'll be getting the EF 50mm F 1.8 lenses .
I'm not really sure if it will be good enough for videos and filmmaking.

I completely love the depth of field and the quality it gives.The low light capability is great as well.Since im using the kit lens and..it's terrible lens let's face it.

It is as well one of the cheapest lenses out there . But from what I heard it doesn't have stabilization ? So I have to do all my shots on tripod,for me it's not a problem,since I'm not doing any sorts of action and shooting on dolly and tripod is a great option for me.

But I'm still not sure .Does any of you have it?What do you think ?

Good for low light. It comes w/ a price, if the talent steps away one step they are out of focus. Your cam must be fixed on a tripod and your talent must be fixed as far as distance is concerned. Why Im thinking a camcorder would be better given the fact the have better IS. Still the cheapo Nifty Fifty is a great tool, has limitations you have to master it.
